There I lay beneath the dirt
Inside a casket hand crafted for me by the world
I almost had as much hope as the air I could breathe
You swooped down and tore open the ground
fierce was your pursuit for me
By then I was just dust and dry bones
But I was made whole by your carpentry
and moulded by your father's pottery
now I can never look back at my cemetary
except to call out to those who shared it with me
with hope in my chest and faith in my feet
I slowly make my way to you
On the wings of the wind you flew down
bearing the weight of the world on your shoulders
You chose neither gold nor precious stone
but thornes and thistles fit for a king
Though you were surrounded by a cloud of blackness
a great white light shone from within
And from your sanctuary you heard me cry out
So you stood on the edge of the world with open arms
Now I stand sure-footed as the deer
I exist to know your love
As I look toward the sky I wait for the thunder from heaven
for I know my home is not far

I can breathe the light
I can hear the voice of fire split the sky
Embers from above fall on my hands
I clench my fists and run forever
Is this second wind
or is this the starting line?
Ashes in the air help me forget my past
I look to the heavens
Counting countless days,
ending endless ways,
Run this race
Fatigue is just a memory
and black and white is here before me
I now realise that this is not my day, but yours
You've given me eyes but I've kept them closed
Clean these windows so I can see outside myself
This is a new chapter the pen is in my hand
This is now chapter two
The leaves are falling
I'm starting a fresh and I walk with caution
I've moved from the wide city
Headed for a place with narrow streets
There's something beautiful about weathered walls
empty cells have the last laugh
Lose my grip and wait for the glass to hit the floor
every second gets louder and louder and louder
I cant afford to lose focus
and let my treasure chest become by tomb
Even when i'm not shaking in your presence
Even when my heart isn't boilling over into tears
Even when the reality of your sacrifice
Isn't causing me to freeze in awe
I see a path paved with leaves
from barren branches
the wind makes a way for me
I run past every tree,
push past everything,
its not what I once was but what i've become
my stride is what makes me
This is the sweetest irony
the branches break me but it's the scars that make me
Could it be that the very trials and the hardships that I go through
are the things that me a better person?
Loose my grip and wait for shattered glass
every second gets louder and louder and louder
I cant afford to lose focus
and let my treasure chest become by tomb
